Thistle Vets are currently searching for an experienced vet to join our diverse team. This role may suit someone with ambitions to step into leadership and take on broader responsibilities within the practice, so for those with a desire to contribute at a senior level, this position offers a clear path forward.Our close-knit team are very well qualified and experienced with several of our vets and nurses possessing or working towards postgraduate qualifications. Amongst our vets we have certificate holders in cardiology (x2), ophthalmology, feline medicine, and acupuncture with internal medicine, surgery, and dermatology soon to follow. We aim to foster a supportive environment for vets to learn from one another. Our consultations are 20 minutes long and this reflects our general ethos of thoroughness, attention to detail, and focus on quality not quantity. Comprehensive workup and treatment is encouraged when possible, facilitated by an ever-expanding range of equipment and gadgets (endoscopy, video otoscopy, doppler ultrasound, DR x-ray, dental x-ray, bronchoscopy, multiparameter monitors, bear-huggers, electrocautery, full in-house lab, ECG, tonometry, slit lamp, TPLO and MMP cruciate and fracture equipment, root canal) and a wide range of other gadgets, alongside a motivated clientele.Our Chesser clinic was expanded and top-to-bottom refurbished in Summer ‘23,and has seen major investment to cater for a burgeoning client base and expand our clinical capabilities. We now enjoy a large prep area, 2 theatres, dedicated imaging and dental suites, separate dog and cat wards, and a lab.The Package* Salary is generous and is scaled relative to experience level and qualifications.* Generous annual CPD budget of £1500 to spend as you wish.* Those wishing to embark on a certificate will be fully funded and supported including travel and accommodation. CPD is strongly encouraged with a very healthy flexible budget, with paid leave granted to attend conferences or courses.* Positive salary reviews are conducted yearly and long service is rewarded with extra days of annual leave in addition to the 5 core weeks + select Bank Holidays.* RCVS and VDS fees are fully paid.* Nest Pension enrolment* The full-time role involves a 4 day week from (08:30-19:00), a 1:6 Saturday rota (09:00-17:00) and a 1:12 Sunday rota (10:00-13:00), although we encourage part time applicants to get in touch and discuss your personal requirements with us.
