The Role
We are seeking a driven and experienced Technical Engineering Manager to lead a design and engineering team. This pivotal role is responsible for delivering high-quality, innovative, and cost-effective design solutions that align with client needs, safety standards, and manufacturing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
* Lead, develop, and mentor a team of design engineers, fostering a culture of collaboration and innovation.
* Oversee the complete technical design process from concept to final production delivery.
* Coordinate workloads and project timelines to ensure timely delivery of customer layout drawings and solutions.
* Approve technical designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards, regulatory requirements, and safety guidelines.
* Liaise with cross-functional teams, including clients, engineers, and production, to address technical challenges.
* Drive continuous improvement and adopt new design methodologies, tools, and technologies.
* Ensure design outputs are accurate, validated, and tested as per quality and performance expectations.
* Support new product development initiatives and contribute to strategic engineering improvements.
Skills & Experience Required
* Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a management or leadership role within a technical or engineering environment.
* Strong proficiency in SolidWorks.
* Deep knowledge of sheet metal fabrication and manufacturing processes.
* Experience with Trumpf Boost software is highly advantageous.
* Excellent problem-solving, organisational, and communication skills.
* Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple design projects simultaneously
