Maternity Cover: 9-12 months, depending on employee return date.
We offer hybrid working arrangements; ideally, candidates should attend our offices once or twice a week. This can be discussed further at interview.
Attendance at Planning Committee meetings and site visits, which occur once a month, will be required.
The post holder will handle major and complex planning applications and will line manage a team of Planning Officers.
Main Responsibilities
1. Processing complex and varied planning applications, including preparing case officer and committee reports.
2. Working to deadlines.
3. Providing professional pre-application advice to the public, members, and developers via our pre-application advice service and daily duty officer phone line.
4. Presenting applications at Planning Committee meetings.
5. Providing guidance to team members to enable professional and efficient work.
6. Monitoring team performance.
Candidates should have a Degree or equivalent in Town and Planning or a related discipline, be members of the RTPI, and possess extensive knowledge and experience in development management processes.
