Marketing Manager
Location: Birmingham - In office 4 days (1 day from home)
Salary: £45,000 - £55,000 DOE + Bens
Reporting to: Head of Marketing
The Fuel Store is a fast‑growing, technology‑driven fuel and fleet management business processing 65 million litres of fuel annually and delivering £80m+ turnover with a lean team of circa 50 colleagues. They are seeking a hands‑on Marketing Manager to lead campaign delivery, manage agency partners and drive measurable commercial growth across multiple channels.
Responsibilities
* Lead delivery of the digital acquisition and ABM programme
* Own the preparation and quality of audience lists, inputs and briefing materials for our agency partners.
* Manage approvals, content supply and platform access to keep campaigns moving without delays.
* Monitor performance reports and track CPL, engagement and pipeline signals, flagging issues and opportunities.
* Build strong working relationships with other departments, most importantly Sales and Account Management to ensure marketing insights are acted on quickly.
* Manage paid media, SEO and website activity.
* Act as the primary day‑to‑day contact for our agency, ensuring they have the information, content and data they need to deliver.
* Maintain a well‑organised, up‑to‑date asset library across all channels.
* Take ownership of landing page updates, content reviews and website amendments, working with the agency to implement changes accurately and promptly.
* Oversee search term performance, keyword lists and SEO updates, coordinating with the agency to keep our visibility strong.
* Drive content and creative delivery.
* Brief and manage our freelance writer and agency on blogs, posts and website content, ensuring output is on‑brand and on time.
* Source subject matter from across the business to create accurate, relevant and commercially useful content.
* Review creative drafts, compile consolidated feedback and manage revisions through to sign‑off.
* Manage content publishing, uploads and asset organisation across all platforms and repositories.
* Build, test and optimise email nurture sequences across the pipeline.
* Keep collateral, case studies and presentations current, accurate and consistently on‑brand.
* Ensure the Sales team always has sharp, up‑to‑date tools that reflect our current proposition and messaging.
* Own CRM data quality, keeping fields, segments and contact records accurate and fit for campaign use.
* Produce regular reports, dashboards and performance updates.
* Use campaign and customer data to generate insight, identify patterns and spot opportunities to improve targeting, engagement and commercial outcomes.
* Maintain lead lists, contact data and campaign records in a clean, structured and agency‑ready state.
* Be the operational hub of marketing: owning schedules, priorities and delivery across all active workstreams.
* Ensure clear, timely communication flows between internal teams and agency partners.
* Keep tasks, deadlines and projects organised with a consistent system that the whole team can rely on.
* Keep the Head of Marketing, and other key stakeholders, fully sighted on progress, blockers and opportunities as they arise.
Requirements
* Proven experience in a generalist marketing role, with a track record of delivering across multiple channels.
* Excellent organisation and project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities without dropping the ball.
* Strong written communication skills and the ability to produce clear, professional copy and brief.
* Confidence working with CRM systems, email platforms, social media channels and marketing reporting tools.
* A self‑starter who takes ownership, works with pace and doesn't need to be managed closely.
* Commercial awareness and genuine curiosity about how marketing drives business growth.
* Intellectually curious about how marketing is evolving, particularly in automation, AI and data‑led decision making.
* A collaborative style and the credibility to work confidently with internal stakeholders, agency partners and senior leadership.
* Confidence to challenge constructively, bringing informed recommendations and alternative perspectives when appropriate.
