You will be based in the scenic Staffordshire Moorlands, within one of two Assessment & Staying Together Teams. Our small, supportive team maintains excellent relationships with district colleagues in Early Help, SEND, Education, Children with Disabilities, and is co-located with our Children in Care and Care Leavers Team. We embed a restorative model and are dedicated to supporting children through a whole-district approach.
Main Responsibilities
You will work with families across the spectrum of need, from Child In Need to the conclusion of Care Proceedings and Adoption planning. Your responsibilities will include:
* Completing statutory duties in coordinating the child's plan, reviewing, and ensuring children are seen and heard
* Undertaking section 47 investigations
* Arranging placement of children into Local Authority care when they cannot remain at home
* Completing private law reports and public law proceedings
* Referring families to our centralized services for specialist support
* Supporting our ASYE's and student Social Workers
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for a:
* Qualified Social Worker with significant experience in Child in Need, Child Protection, and Court Proceedings
* Registered with Social Work England
* Possessing a current UK driving license and vehicle
* Experience in supporting and mentoring colleagues
Above all, you should have a passion for working with children and families to provide the right support at the right time, aiming to keep families together safely.
