Site Engineer (Civils / Utilities)

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Site Engineer to join a major infrastructure scheme on a Pipeline Project. This is a key role on a high-profile project, with the primary responsibility of acting as the Engineer on shaft sinking works.
The Role
As Site Engineer, you will take technical ownership of shaft sinking activities, ensuring works are delivered safely, accurately, and in line with programme and specification. You will work closely with the project management team, subcontractors, and site operatives to drive quality and productivity on site.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
•Acting as the lead Engineer for all shaft sinking operations
•Setting out, surveying, and checking works to ensure accuracy
•Managing and coordinating subcontractors and site teams
•Ensuring compliance with design drawings, specifications, and method statements
•Monitoring progress against programme and reporting to the Project Manager
•Maintaining high standards of health, safety, quality, and environmental compliance
•Assisting with temporary works, permits, and technical problem-solving
•Producing and maintaining site records, RAMS, and as-built information
REQUIREMENTS
•Proven experience as a Site Engineer on heavy civil engineering or infrastructure projects
•Strong experience in shaft sinking (essential)
•Background in pipelines, tunneling, utilities, or similar deep excavation works preferred
•CSCS card (minimum requirement)
•Strong setting-out and surveying skills
•Ability to work independently and manage engineering activities on site
•Excellent communication and coordination skills
