Events Officer Responsible to: Fundraising Manager Location: Office-based with flexibility, regular local travel required Hours: 15 hours per week Salary: £32,000 FTE Contract: Permanent Role Purpose The Events Officer is responsible for planning, delivering, and evaluating a programme of fundraising, community, and engagement events that support the charitys mission and income generation. The role involves owning events from concept through to delivery, working closely with staff, volunteers, supporters, and external partners. Key Responsibilities Event Planning & Delivery Plan, coordinate, and deliver a calendar of fundraising, community, and engagement events Develop event concepts aligned with the charitys values, objectives, and income targets Create detailed event plans, timelines, and risk assessments Oversee event delivery, including on-the-day management and troubleshooting Ensure all events comply with health & safety, safeguarding, and charity policies Budget & Financial Management Set and manage event budgets, ensuring value for money Monitor income and expenditure and report on financial performance Fundraising & Income Generation Maximise fundraising opportunities at events Explore new and creative ways to grow event-based income Build relationships with sponsors, donors, and community partners Support stewardship of event supporters and participants Volunteer & Stakeholder Management Support the volunteer Co-Ordinator in recruiting, briefing and managing volunteers for events Liaise with venues, suppliers, performers, and partners Work collaboratively with internal teams to promote and deliver events Marketing & Promotion Work with the Comms team to promote events across digital and offline channels Assist with content creation for social media, newsletters, and promotional materials Support ticket sales, registrations, and attendee communications Monitoring, Evaluation & Reporting Collect feedback and evaluate event success and impact Produce post-event reports including income, attendance, and learning Use insights to improve future events Person Specification Essential Experience of planning and delivering events (fundraising or community-based desirable) Strong organisational and time-management skills Experience managing budgets or working to financial targets Excellent communication and relationship-building skills Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously Flexible approach to working hours, including occasional evenings and weekends Confident IT skills (Microsoft Office, email, databases) Desirable Experience working in the charity or not-for-profit sector Fundraising or income-generation experience Experience working with volunteers Knowledge of health & safety and risk management for events Experience using CRM or event management systems Values & Approach Commitment to the charitys mission and values A collaborative, positive, and solutions-focused attitude Sensitivity when working with vulnerable individuals or communities Willingness to adapt and support wider organisational needs when required
