Kennedys is looking for a Legal Secretary to join their London office in the busy Commercial Division working primarily for the Tax Disputes Team and when required the wider Commercial Disputes Team. The role will include supporting fee earners on active cases, carrying out conflict checks, opening files, regular client contact, proactive identification and input of key information onto the firm's case management system.
Team
Kennedys' recently established Commercial Disputes Tax team consists of a expanding team of lawyers based in London. This is a high profile team within the Commercial Division working with high net worth clients. The role demands attention to detail and ensuring that tight deadlines are met and all correspondence dealt with promptly. The team travels extensively both nationally and internationally on client business so need to ensure that schedules are optimised. The role will be 4 days in the office and 1 day working from home.
Key responsibilities
1. File opening and conflict checks, highlight any issues and then proceeding to open files as necessary, putting information into Elite
2. Manage and prioritise tasks according to urgency for fee earning team
3. Seek to develop knowledge of the team practice area, learning how it operates and adhering to it
4. Use of our Kase Management system
5. Take and record accurate messages and pass on to the appropriate person and without delay
6. Attend to clients both on the telephone and in person in a professional manner.
Required experience
7. Previous secretarial experience
8. Competent knowledge about legal practice
9. Proficient in word processing/office software
