Job Title: Linux System Administrator
We are seeking an experienced Linux System Administrator to join our team in Cheltenham. The successful candidate will work across multiple teams, implementing standards, policies, and procedures for continual service improvement.
Role Responsibilities
* Provide first and second level technical support on incidents and problems
* Monitor overall system performance and ensure smooth system functionality
* Create, maintain, and utilize documentation
* Assist in building compliance with processes and policies

Desirable Skills And Technologies
* Proficiency in UNIX/Linux systems (Red Hat, Debian, Solaris, AIX, etc.)
* Shell scripting (Bash, KornShell, etc.)
* Infrastructure as Code tools (Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, Chef)
* Process and job control (cron, at, systemd timers)
* Networking fundamentals (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, NFS, SSH, FTP)
* Filesystem management (LVM, ext4, XFS, ZFS)
* Performance tuning and monitoring (top, vmstat, iostat, sar, netstat)
* Experience with automation software such as Ansible/Puppet
* Knowledge of scripting with Bash, Python and/or Git
* Experience with AWS
* Virtualization and containers (KVM, VMware, Docker, Podman)
