With continued successful growth across our business, we’re currently recruiting for an experienced swim! Assistant General Manager who is passionate about creating a world-class environment for learn to swim, in bespoke learn to swim centres. This is an integral role not only to the day-to-day operations of the centres but also to the larger vision of transforming how learn to swim is delivered in the UK. History of swim!

Olympians Rebecca Adlington, Steve Parry, and Adrian Turner are behind the creation of swim!, the UK's leading premium learn-to-swim experience. We utilize bespoke facilities to deliver high-quality swimming lessons to children aged 0-11. Our programme emphasizes technique and core skills before advancing to distances, with fun themes each week. Our members-only access includes modern, clean, and warm changing rooms designed for children, a panoramic viewing lounge with refreshments, activities for families, smart lesson management, and our unique swim! awards to celebrate achievements. The online booking process is simple, with no need to rebook every few weeks.

1. Assist the General Manager in achieving service and financial targets as outlined in the annual budget and business plan.
2. Oversee the delivery of engaging lessons to children and adults, ensuring a seamless customer experience using swim! resources and programming strategies.
3. Provide exceptional customer care to swimmers and their families, instilling these standards within the operational team.
4. Monitor programme performance and KPIs such as customer retention and Net Promoter Scores, analyzing data for business improvements.
5. Lead operational teams including Lifeguards and Swimming Teachers, managing rotas, team observations, and performance reviews.
6. Manage opening and closing procedures, ensuring adherence to policies, safety, and risk assessments.
7. Maintain high standards of hygiene and operational excellence, aiming for a 5-star monthly audit score and full H&S compliance.
8. Conduct health and safety checks regularly, maintaining accurate records and proactively addressing hazards.
9. Ensure pool plant and facilities operate efficiently, performing scheduled maintenance and repairs.
10. Manage chemical use in line with guidelines and regulations, monitoring stock levels and placing orders as needed.
11. Coordinate with engineers and contractors for maintenance, supporting preventive and reactive repairs.
12. Oversee maintenance budgets, optimize costs, and manage overtime and staffing expenses.

* Strong communication and numeracy skills
* Experience in sports/activity programming and management
* Customer-focused with high standards of service
* Commercially aware with KPI experience
* Proven leadership in managing teams
* Ability to collaborate with team members, suppliers, and internal departments
* Ability to define and communicate operational KPIs
* Effective budget management skills
* Excellent interpersonal skills
* Organized with business development capabilities
* Proficient in Microsoft Office and CRM systems
* Passionate about sport, physical activity, and health
* This role involves out-of-hours work and key holder responsibilities
