In this role, you will act as a trusted partner and advocate for our project teams. You will help navigate the complexities of large-scale construction with a focus on collaborative problem-solving, ensuring our projects are delivered with integrity and care for the communities we serve.
As the new Senior Lawyer, some of your key responsibilities will be:
* Foster Strategic Partnerships: Act as a dedicated advisor to the project management team, offering insightful and tailored legal guidance throughout every stage of the project lifecycle.
* Support Contractual Excellence: Collaborate with procurement teams to author and facilitate the negotiation of supply chain contracts, ensuring all agreements are fair and legally sound.
* Nurture a Culture of Compliance: Provide empathetic and clear training on UK regulatory frameworks, specifically focusing on safety, environmental stewardship, and data protection.
* Facilitate Collaborative Resolutions: Help resolve claims and disagreements through constructive communication and proactive mediation, working closely with external partners to maintain project harmony.
* Coordinate Project Governance: Oversee the organisation of contract administration and data management, ensuring that all records are meticulously maintained to support the team's success.
To be successful as the Senior Lawyer, you must have a deep understanding of the construction and civil engineering industry. We are looking for candidates with:
* Legal Credentials: Admitted as a Solicitor of England and Wales (or an equivalent common law jurisdiction) with a dedicated professional background in the construction or infrastructure sectors.
* Extensive Experience: 5+ years of professional experience in facilitating negotiations and providing thoughtful legal advice for complex project and supply contracts.
* Interpersonal Excellence: Exceptional communication skills with a focus on building inclusive, trusting relationships and managing stakeholder interactions with grace and professionalism.
