An exciting opportunity has arisen as part of a rapidly developing convenience food‑to‑go manufacturer due to the fast organic growth of the business. The company is a private family‑owned food‑to‑go manufacturer in London supplying retail clients and foodservice operators with a range of chilled ready to eat products.
Role Description
Our Transport Planner plays a pivotal role in ensuring that Simply Lunch works towards its vision of becoming a leading Food to Go supplier in the U.K. We must ensure that as a business our Customer Service is notably better than any of our competition and the timely and quality delivery of our goods is instrumental in our overall service to our customers. Simply Lunch is known for its reliable service and this is something that we must maintain. Your overall responsibility is to ensure our orders are delivered at the correct time as efficiently as possible. You also have a range of other responsibilities, listed below, which ensures the successful running of our Transport department.
Key Responsibilities
* Orders are delivered on time and at the required quality.
* Ensure the vehicles are planned maximising and utilising the fleet efficiently and maximising load income.
* Ensure work is shared evenly between drivers as far as possible, considering the working time directive requirements, etc.
* Planning routes to allow the best fuel efficiency
* Planning routes to ensure customers delivery window are achieved
* Conduct driver briefing and de‑briefings as appropriate.
* Communicating with other colleagues to ensure a free flow of relevant information.
* To work with the wider team to develop an understanding of customer requirements and movement forecasts.
* Ensure load and delivery data accurately entered into the computer system, producing reports as required.
* Customer service, office admin and any ad hoc office duties
