We are seeking an experienced and passionate Head Chef to lead our kitchen team in delivering exceptional culinary experiences as we grow into a multi-site operation. The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in food production and preparation, coupled with excellent leadership and team management skills. As the Head Chef, you will oversee all kitchen operations, ensuring that our dishes meet the highest standards of quality and presentation while adhering to food safety regulations.

The Role
We're looking for a hands-on Head Chef to lead our kitchen. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to take ownership of a kitchen, develop exciting menus, and work closely with a small, supportive team.
Responsibilities include:
* Leading day-to-day kitchen operations, including prep and service
* Creating new dishes and daily/weekly specials in line with Herbies' vision
* Maintaining the highest food safety and hygiene standards (EHO compliance)
* Managing stock, suppliers, and kitchen ordering
* Training, motivating, and supporting a small team of chefs
* Ensuring smooth service and consistent quality across all dishes
* Contributing ideas to menu development and seasonal changes
* Being flexible and collaborative – in a small team, everyone helps with everything (including dishes when needed)
What We're Looking For:
* Previous experience as Head Chef or strong Sous Chef ready to step up
* Passion for vegetarian and vegan cuisine, with creativity to elevate dishes
* Strong knowledge of kitchen management, prep systems, and stock control
* Ability to inspire and support a small, close-knit team
* Hands-on, positive, and adaptable approach
Hours & Pay:
* 30–40 hours per week (to be discussed around your preferences) to be negotiated along with salary
