Our client is a well-established successful property organisation in Liverpool who is currently seeking an Assistant Head of Lettings Accounts to join their company.
As Assistant Head of the department you will play a crucial role in supporting the financial operations of our property management department. You will be responsible for overseeing the financial processes relating to lettings, ensuring that accounts are accurate, up to date and managed effectively. You will work closely with the Head of Lettings Accounts to maintain financial controls, handle tenant and landlord queries, and support the smooth running of the lettings accounts team.
Responsibilities of the role:
* Oversee and assist in the day-to-day management of the lettings accounts, including rent collection, tenant deposit handling, and arrears management.
* Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual financial reports related to lettings income, expenditure and arrears.
* Manage and oversee payments to landlords, contractors, and third parties.
* Perform regular bank and account reconciliations to ensure the accuracy of lettings accounts.
* Assist in the management of tenant arrears, working with tenants to set up payment plans where necessary.
* Ensure that all lettings financial activities comply with industry regulations, including landlord and tenant laws, anti-money laundering (AML) requirements, and data protection.
* Provide guidance and training to junior accounts staff, supporting their professional development and ensuring adherence to company policies.
* Act as a point of contact for landlords and tenants regarding financial queries, resolving disputes professionally and efficiently.
* Assist the Head of Lettings Accounts in reviewing and improving existing financial processes and systems, implementing best practises for efficiency.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes to help with strategic financial planning.
You will ideally have 3-5 years’ experience in property management accounts or a similar finance role, and be qualified to degree level or AAT Level 3. We are also looking for someone who has previous experience in staff management and training, with at least 2 years in a senior or supervisory position.
Our client is offering a basic salary of £30,000 - £35,000. Working hours are Monday to Friday 9-5pm although the company also offer flexitime.
