Job Description
To drive commercial performance through in-depth analysis of key retail KPIs, robust financial planning, and close collaboration with business teams to enable data-driven decision-making across the organization.
Results – Driving Commercial Performance
1. Conduct comprehensive OMNI analysis of sales, conversion, traffic, pricing, discount rates, returns and other commercial KPIs
2. Deliver clear, actionable insights to improve trading outcomes and support business growth.
3. Monitor and report on performance against budget, forecast, and historical benchmarks.
4. Support category and channel profitability assessments to guide product, pricing, and promotional decisions.
5. Manage and improve the budgeting and reforecasting process for commercial functions, ensuring alignment with strategic goals.
Approach – Data-Led, Forward-Thinking Financial Control
6. Build and maintain financial models, dashboards, and reports that track commercial KPIs in real time.
7. Implement process improvements to enhance reporting accuracy, automation, and accessibility.
8. Support strategic initiatives with scenario modelling and financial impact analysis.
9. Use advanced Excel, BI tools and ERP systems to derive insights from complex data sets.
10. Lead on developing standard reporting frameworks that provide clear visibility into business performance.
Teamwork – Partnering for Success
11. Act as a trusted business partner to Buying, Merchandising, E-commerce, and Operations teams.
12. Collaborate cross-functionally to support commercial decision-making and operational efficiency.
13. Contribute financial expertise to cross-departmental projects including product launches, channel strategy, and promotional planning.
14. Present financial insights to non-financial stakeholders in a clear and actionable way.
15. Support a culture of accountability and commercial ownership across teams through coaching and shared insights.

What you need to succeed:
16. Educational Background: Degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field.
17. Professional Experience: Extensive experience in a commercial finance or controlling role, ideally within the retail or fashion industry.
18. Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a talent for transforming data into actionable insights.
19. Technical Proficiency: Proficient in Excel, BI tools, and ERP systems; adept at navigating a fast-paced, data-rich environment.
20. Personal Attributes: Commercially curious, detail-oriented, and highly collaborative.
21. Industry Passion: A strong passion for fashion retail, with a solid understanding of retail KPIs and seasonality.
