Senior Management Accountant – Liverpool Central

As Senior Management Accountant, you'll take ownership of the monthly management accounts process, delivering high-quality financial reporting and analysis to support commercial and strategic decision-making. This role is integral in ensuring accurate and timely reporting across the group, while driving process improvements and providing valuable insights to the leadership team.
We are seeking a qualified and ambitious Senior Management Accountant to join our Finance team in Liverpool.
Key Responsibilities
* Take responsibility for the preparation of monthly management accounts, including journals, accruals, and prepayments.
* Deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary for senior stakeholders.
* Support budgeting and forecasting processes, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
* Perform balance sheet reconciliations and maintain strong financial controls.
* Liaise with internal teams to ensure accurate income and expenditure allocation.
* Prepare and present regular financial reports to senior management.
* Assist in the production of statutory accounts and work closely with external auditors.
* Contribute to process improvement initiatives, helping to streamline reporting and enhance efficiency.
* Provide support and guidance to junior team members where required.
Requirements
* Qualified Accountant – CIMA, ACCA, or ACA.
* Strong background in management accounting and financial reporting.
* Experience preparing monthly management accounts and supporting budgeting/forecasting cycles.
* Proficient in journal postings, accruals, and reconciliations.
* Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, lookups, etc.).
* Strong systems knowledge – experience with accounting software preferred.
* Exposure to working in a fast-paced, growth-focused environment.

Package – £45k–£55k DOE
