We are looking for an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Psychologist to join the ACSEND (Sexual Assault and Abuse Service) Team. Ascend is an evidence-based psychological service supporting sexual assault and abuse recovery, working in partnership with local voluntary sector services (Staffordshire Women's Aid/Survive) and alongside existing NHS services, including Talking Therapies and secondary mental health services.
We seek an enthusiastic and organised Assistant Psychologist to become part of an established multi-disciplinary team that emphasizes delivering evidence-based psychological interventions tailored to the needs of individuals referred to our service.
The role is varied and offers opportunities to build clinical skills, develop and implement group interventions, utilize service evaluation and research skills, and enhance multidisciplinary team working skills. Good time management and the ability to handle multiple demands are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Undertake protocol-based psychological assessments with service users, family members, and others involved in care.
2. Assist in formulating and delivering care plans involving psychological treatment and management of service user's issues, including simple procedures related to psychological therapies.
3. Help coordinate and run therapeutic groups, manage referrals, facilitate attendance, co-deliver workshop material, and record outcomes.
4. Attend and contribute to multidisciplinary pathway meetings.
5. Assist in designing and implementing service development projects.
6. Support clinically related administration, conduct audits, collect statistics, and contribute to research, teaching, and project work.
We are committed to high-quality care and service improvement, with a focus on staff wellbeing, offering flexible working and wellness opportunities.
Our organization supports the Greener NHS initiative to become a carbon net zero system by 2045, embedding sustainability in our strategy through our Green Plan and the "Proud to be Green" campaign. We aim to support staff in contributing to these environmental goals.
The Trust values diversity and inclusion, encouraging applications from under-represented groups, including women, disabled individuals, those from global majority backgrounds, and LGBTQ+ communities.
