You will need healthcare experience within a mainstream healthcare setting and have worked within an acute medical, surgical field, or have current or previous renal nursing experience. You should be adaptable with the right attitude and aptitude to work in a busy dialysis clinic.
What does the role involve?
Being a Dialysis nurse requires commitment and passion, along with the skills and competencies to juggle the technical nursing aspects whilst providing holistic care. You will work autonomously, responsible for assessing care needs and developing, implementing, and evaluating care for dialysis patients with chronic kidney disease or acute kidney injury.
Limerick Dialysis Unit operates 24 haemodialysis stations, serving up to 96 patients, in partnership with the Health Service Executive, using the latest equipment. Nursing is planned at a ratio of 1:4 patients, supported by HCAs on each shift.
This is a full-time role of 37.5 hours per week, with shifts varying Monday to Saturday between 6:30 am to 6:00 pm.
