About the Role:

Key Responsibilities:
* Curriculum Delivery:
o Plan, deliver, and evaluate engaging and stimulating English lessons across the curriculum, catering to Key Stage 3 (Years 7-8) and potentially Key Stage 4 (Years 9-11) in line with the National Curriculum.
o Utilize a variety of teaching methods to cater to diverse learning styles and ensure all students can develop their literacy skills effectively.
o Develop a love for reading and writing, encouraging exploration of a wide range of texts and fostering critical analysis skills.
* Curriculum Development:
o Contribute to the ongoing development of the English curriculum, ensuring it aligns with the school's vision, national requirements, and the latest advancements in English education.
o Stay abreast of current trends and best practices in English pedagogy, implementing innovative approaches to enhance student learning.
* Building Relationships:
o Build strong and positive relationships with students, fostering their confidence in written and verbal communication.
o Provide constructive feedback and support to enable students to reach their full potential.
o Cultivate a stimulating and supportive learning environment that encourages participation, intellectual curiosity, and a love for the English language.
* Assessment and Evaluation:
o Design and implement effective assessment strategies to monitor student progress in reading, writing, speaking and listening skills (formative and summative assessments).
o Provide students with clear, constructive feedback that helps them improve their writing, reading, and analytical skills.
* Extracurricular Activities:
o Contribute to and potentially lead extracurricular activities such as debating clubs, creative writing workshops, or school publications (depending on your interests and experience).
* School Community:
o Actively participate in departmental and whole-school events, fostering a collaborative spirit and contributing to the wider school community.
