Our client is a specialist provider of time-critical and just-in-time logistics solutions, supporting automotive and industrial customers across the UK and Europe. Due to continued growth, we are seeking a Transport Coordinator to join our Operations team in Banbury.
This is a key operational role, responsible for the coordination of domestic and international transport movements, with a particular focus on UKFrance traffic and post-Brexit customs compliance.
Role Purpose:
The Transport Coordinator will be responsible for the effective planning, execution, and monitoring of transport movements to ensure service levels are met consistently. The role requires close coordination with drivers, customers, partners, and customs agents within a fast-paced, time-critical environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Coordinate day-to-day UK and UKEU transport operations, with primary responsibility for UKFrance traffic
Plan and monitor time-critical and just-in-time deliveries
Liaise with drivers, customers, subcontractors, and internal teams to ensure smooth operations
Manage customs documentation and processes, ensuring full compliance with post-Brexit requirements
Work closely with customs agents, ferry operators, and Eurotunnel
Proactively identify and resolve operational issues, delays, or service risks
Maintain accurate transport, customs, and compliance records
Ensure all movements comply with company procedures, legal requirements, and customer standards
Support continuous improvement within the transport and operations function
Skills & Experience Required
Proven experience in a transport coordination or logistics operations role
Knowledge of UKEU transport flows, ideally UKFrance
Understanding of customs procedures and documentation (post-Brexit)
Strong organisational and communication skills
Ability to prioritise effectively in a high-pressure, time-critical environment
Confident liaising with multiple stakeholders at all levels
Good IT skills and experience using transport or logistics systems
