Electro-Mechanical Engineer
Location: Wimborne, Dorset Fully onsite
What You'll Do
As an Senior Electro-Mechanical Engineer, you'll work across design, development, and production support to create complex aerospace systems that meet the highest industry standards.
Your responsibilities will include:
1. Designing electro-mechanical assemblies such as enclosures, looms/wiring harnesses, and PCB assemblies using 3D CAD modeling.
2. Ensuring compliance with aerospace standards (EWIS, EMC, IPC) and manufacturability/testability principles.
3. Generating and managing engineering drawings, ensuring accuracy with configuration control tools (e.g., PTC Windchill).
4. Collaborating with cross-functional teams, mentoring junior engineers, and leading engineering change requests.
5. Applying advanced problem-solving tools, including Design for Six Sigma and Lean methodologies.
6. Balancing new product design with production support-analyzing, refining, and improving both legacy and next-generation systems.
Key Responsibilities
7. Lead electrical and electromechanical engineering projects, ensuring compliance and efficiency.
8. Act as a technical consultant to improve manufacturing processes.
9. Mentor junior engineers, guiding them through design principles and best practices.
10. Manage complex engineering projects with Lean methodologies.
11. Apply Design for Six Sigma to streamline aerospace design challenges.
12. Drive innovation, contributing to intellectual property and technical publications.

13. 3D Modeling & Technical Drawings - PTC CREO expertise.
14. Configuration Management - Proficiency in PTC Windchill.
15. Safety-Focused Design - Strong awareness of safety integration.
16. Task & Workflow Management - Ability to manage outsourced work packages.
17. Clear Technical Communication - Skilled in analyzing and justifying engineering changes.
Desirable:
18. Loom Design & Electrical Harnessing - Experience with TE Connectivity Harnware (Visio).
19. Drawing Verification - Familiarity with Bluebeam Revu.
20. PCB Knowledge - Understanding of CADSTAR for PCB data analysis.
21. Advanced Quality Planning - Experience with APQP.
22. Failure Mode Analysis - DFMEA proficiency.
