Overview
We are looking for a compassionate, reliable, and proactive Community Health Support Worker to support a Gentleman living with Cerebral Palsy and asthma who lives in the NG17 area of Kirkby-in-ashfield. He has a good sense of humour, interest in sports, and is proactive. He enjoys a pub lunch out in Nottingham, attends football games and ice hockey, and likes British hearty home cooked food. The successful applicant must have a clean UK Driving Licence and be able to drive the customer’s car. This is a live‑in based role working on a 1:1 basis, involving long social visits on a consistent rota (including Saturdays and Sundays).
Responsibilities
* Supporting the client's mental wellbeing, independence, and daily living needs (e.g., cooking and serving meals, basic domestic tasks).
* Engaging in community activities, conversations about sports and interests (especially football), and social outings.
* Assisting to maintain personal appearance.
* Providing companionship and living within the client's home on a 1:1 basis.
* Building professional and respectful relationships with the client, family, and external care professionals.
* Providing emotional support and encouragement.
* Support experience with cerebral palsy is preferable but not essential.
* Demonstrating empathy, professionalism, punctuality, and a commitment to high-quality care.
* Maintaining strong but professional boundaries while offering emotional and practical support.
* Holding a clean UK driving licence and having access to a vehicle for work.
* Showing interest in developing or enhancing skills in the care and mental health sector.
* Willingness to work weekends and follow a consistent shift pattern.
