Medical Staffing Coordinator
The closing date is 13 November 2025
An exciting opportunity has become available at Kingston Hospital for a Medical Staffing Coordinator who will be responsible for leading in the management of Medicine clinical staffing rotas. Candidates will need to demonstrate a high degree of attention to detail and have the ability to prioritise their workload in order to meet tight timescales. Previous experience with rota coordination, working within a workforce department or working with medical staff and doctors is strongly desirable.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible for the creation and pro‑active management of the medical on‑call rota and medical departmental rotas. This will involve close liaison with key stakeholders and a comprehensive understanding of the demands and complexities of each service in order to support the provision of cost‑efficient medical rotas. The post holder will play a pivotal role in ensuring appropriate internal locum cover and reducing the reliance on external medical agency usage, avoiding unnecessary associated expenditure.
The post holder will be the point of contact for all Resident Doctor rota issues within the Medicine department at Kingston Hospital. The Rota Coordinator will be responsible for recording and following up on absences and requests for leave to identify possible cover arrangements for any gaps in the rota.
The post holder will ensure proactive and accurate processing and documentation is completed to request temporary cover for sickness leave, any additional cover and permanent recruitment planning and vacancy forms. The post holder maintains the weekly Resident Doctors rotas for the Medicine department and will ensure adequate cover for outpatient clinics, inpatients and acute on call shifts is maintained.
