Job Overview An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Medicine Directorate for two Elective and Diagnostic Booking Officers to support the opening of the new Community Diagnostic Centre (CDC) at Upton Hospital. This is a permanent, full-time position primarily based at Wexham Park Hospital and which will entail cross site bookings. However, the post holder, on occasion, may be required to work cross site at Upton Hospital as and when required to meet service demands. This is a busy and fast-paced role that demands excellent organisational and multitasking abilities, along with the capacity to remain calm and effective under pressure. You will play a vital role in coordinating elective and diagnostic appointments, ensuring patient pathways are managed smoothly, efficiently, and in line with service requirements. Strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively are essential. The ideal candidate will be proactive, adaptable, and keen to develop within a supportive and dynamic administrative team. Main duties of the job The post holder will be responsible for booking appointments primarily for services based at Upton Hospital and will be based on-site at Wexham. On rare occasions, and in line with service needs, they may be required to work from Upton Hospital as per the service needs. They will play an active role in the implementation and ongoing monitoring of both new and existing appointment systems and will support the team in meeting Trust targets. The post holder must demonstrate excellent customer service skills when dealing with patients, as well as with internal and external staff. Person specification Qualifications Essential criteria GCSE English and Mathematics (Grade C / 4 or above) or equivalent qualification Desirable criteria NVQ Level 2 Administration or equivalent practical knowledge Experience Essential criteria Experience of working in a hospital or busy office environment. Significant experience in difficult patient situations.
