Deputy Manager
* Location: Batley
* Hours: Monday – Friday, 09:00-17:00
* Salary: £36,337.60 per annum
* Job Type: Full-time
We are seeking a dedicated Deputy Manager to deliver the highest standards of care, protection, and support to children and young people. This role involves facilitating their physical, psychological, and emotional development through the application of our therapeutic practice model and care standards. The Deputy Manager will support the Registered Manager in ensuring the successful delivery of agreed outcomes and high-quality care for children living in the home.
Day-to-Day Responsibilities:
* Provide primary basic care and nurturing, contributing to a therapeutic environment to help children progress.
* Maintain clear and consistent boundaries to create a safe and secure environment within the home.
* Act as a positive role model, demonstrating professional and calm behaviour across a variety of situations.
* Engage, communicate, and listen to the young people, recording any significant features of their behaviour.
* Coordinate petty cash expenditure and cash reconciliation.
* Take a lead role in team meetings, providing views and ways to improve current practice.
* Communicate effectively with external agencies such as the Police, Ofsted, and Social Workers.
* Support the financial management of the home by adhering to the agreed budget and maintaining appropriate records.
* Ensure all care paperwork is completed to the required standard in a timely manner.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
* At least 2 years of experience in a shift-leading capacity within a similar role.
* Thorough understanding of attachment theory, child development, and psychological theories.
* Expert knowledge of Safeguarding and Child Protection Procedures.
* Previous supervisory and management experience, including budgetary management.
* Proficiency in managing key staff difficulties such as changing rota, sickness, incidents, and notifications.
* Excellent and up-to-date working and theoretical knowledge of child and adolescent development and the effects of trauma, loss, abuse, and deprivation.
* Ability to engage with young people in a positive and proactive way.
* Minimum of 1 year of experience in a position that includes management responsibilities.
