Job Overview
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Senior Care Assistant to join our team. In this role, you will provide essential support to elderly individuals and those with disabilities, ensuring their comfort and well-being in a variety of settings, including assisted living facilities, nursing homes, and home care environments. Your responsibilities will encompass personal care, patient monitoring, and assistance with daily living activities, all while fostering a supportive and respectful atmosphere.
Duties
* Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and meal preparation.
* Provide patient observation and monitoring to ensure safety and comfort.
* Administer medications as per care plans and assist with vital sign checks.
* Support residents with mobility challenges using equipment such as Hoyer lifts.
* Maintain cleanliness in living areas and assist with light housekeeping duties.
* Prepare meals that meet dietary needs while ensuring a pleasant dining experience.
* Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being.
* Document care provided accurately while adhering to HIPAA regulations.
* Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
* Provide companionship and emotional support to enhance the quality of life for residents.
Requirements
* Previous experience in senior care or related fields such as home health, hospice care, or long-term care is preferred.
* Familiarity with Alzheimer's care, dementia care, memory care, or working with individuals with developmental disabilities is a plus.
* Certification in First Aid and CPR is highly desirable.
* Strong skills in patient monitoring, cleaning, cooking, and assisting with daily activities are essential.
* Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by the needs of the residents.
* Excellent communication skills and a compassionate approach to caregiving are crucial for success in this role.
