About the role: As part of the Trading and Analysis, Commercial Team, the Portfolio Optimiser will; - Produce generation forecasts for the portfolio on a weekly basis, to be distributed cross functionally. - Work closely with teams across Group (Finance, Operations, Biomass and Logistics etc.) to ensure we are using all of the key information we have to price our units accordingly to optimise generation - Actively engage in the development of trading strategies, providing views to help drive trading tactics - Support new initiatives and products, including implementation and identify and implement improvements to models and process efficiency - Provide analytical support to the Head of Trading, the Trading desk etc. as required. Who we’re looking for: To be successful in this role you’ll ideally have… - Experience in an analytical/market facing role, preferably within the wholesale power industry. - Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) with Strong IT skills - Excel and Powerpoint as a minimum. - Able to develop Power BI reports, Power Extraction and having a basic knowledge of coding (VBA, Python…) would be an advantage, as would knowledge of the UK and continental power and gas markets - Experience developing Power BI reports, Power Extraction and a basic knowledge of coding (VBA, Python…) preferable - A natural problem solver, results orientated and able to perform to tight deadlines.
