The vacancy we have includes a regular shift pattern of 3-4 shifts per week. Regular shifts are normally 9-00 am to 1-30 pm or 2-30 pm to 6-30 pm. Some Saturdays 9-00 am to 1-00 pm may be required. The successful candidate would need to be flexible to cover other staff holidays or sick leave as and when required. Usual hours are between 12 and 20 hours per week.
* Ensure an effective and efficient reception and telephone service is provided to patients and any other visitors to the practice.
* Ensure GDPR regulations are adhered to at all times.
* Deal with all general enquiries, explain procedures and make new and follow-up appointments, in person and on the telephone, following practice procedure.
* Explain practice arrangements and formal requirements to new patients and those seeking emergency cover and ensure procedures are completed.
* Open up premises at the start of the day when first to arrive and make all necessary preparations to receive patients. ·
* Initiate contact with and respond to requests from patients, team members and external agencies.
* Photocopy documentation as required.
* Input data into the online diary and patients' healthcare records as necessary.
* Action requests for information, e.g. insurance/solicitors' letters.
* Manage all queries as necessary in an efficient manner..
* Maintain a clean, tidy, effective working area at all times
* Maintain a clean and tidy waiting room.
* Monitor and maintain the reception area.
* Utilize word-processing skills involved in letter writing for inter-professional communication.
* Support all clinical staff with general tasks as requested.
