The Senior Accountant Role
As a Senior Accountant, you will manage a portfolio of clients while taking an active role in reviewing work and supporting junior team members.
You will work closely with senior members of the team, ensuring assignments are delivered to a high standard while helping to maintain workflow across the team.
Key responsibilities include:
* Preparation and review of statutory accounts (FRS 102) for a varied client portfolio
* Preparation of monthly and quarterly management accounts
* Reviewing work prepared by junior team members
* Providing day-to-day supervision and guidance within the team
* Supporting workflow planning and delivery across multiple assignments
* Preparation and review of VAT returns, including within a multi-currency environment
* Liaising directly with clients and responding to queries
This role offers a balance of technical accounting work and early team leadership exposure, making it well suited to someone looking to progress beyond a purely delivery-focused position.
About You
You will be recently qualified or have gained some post-qualification experience within an accountancy practice environment.
Suitable candidates will typically have:
* ACA, ACCA, ICAS or SAICA qualification
* Experience preparing statutory accounts within practice
* Experience with management accounts preparation
* Confidence reviewing work and supporting junior team members
* Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
