Job Summary
We are looking for a motivated and committed GP to join our friendly and supportive team at Little London Surgery. This is an opportunity to step into an established GP role within a well-structured and stable practice, with a clear approach to managing workload and supporting clinicians. Responsibilities
Clinical Responsibilities
* Deliver a full range of primary care services including:
o Face-to-face consultations
o Telephone and online consultations (AccuRx triage system)
* Assess, diagnose, and manage acute and chronic conditions
* Undertake home visits where clinically appropriate
* Prescribe safely and effectively in line with local and national guidance
* Maintain accurate, contemporaneous records using EMIS Web
* Participate in safeguarding for children and vulnerable adults
Duty Doctor (DOC) Responsibilities
* Participate in the rotational Duty Doctor (DOC) rota
* Manage same-day triage and urgent clinical demand on allocated DOC days
* Provide clinical advice and support to the wider team during DOC sessions
* Escalate concerns appropriately to senior clinicians where required
Nursing Home / Ward Round Responsibilities
* Participate in a shared rota for nursing home/ward round reviews
* Support continuity of care for vulnerable and housebound patients
* Work collaboratively with the wider MDT to coordinate care
Quality, Safety & Governance
* Deliver care in line with:
o NICE guidance
o CQC regulations
o Practice policies and SOPs
* Participate in:
o Clinical audit
o Learning events (significant events)
o Complaints review and reflective learning
* Contribute to risk management and patient safety processes
* Support delivery of QOF and enhanced services
Team Working & Leadership
* Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team including:
o GP Partners and salaried GPs
o ANP, nurses, HCAs
o PCN staff (pharmacists, paramedics, social prescribers, physiotherapist)
o Administrative and reception teams
* Contribute to a positive, inclusive, and supportive team culture
* Provide informal mentoring or support to colleagues where appropriate
* Participate in practice and clinical meetings
Practice Development
* Contribute to service improvement and innovation
* Engage in demand and capacity management work
* Support improvements in patient access and continuity
* Contribute to practice objectives and PCN priorities
Training & Development
* Maintain full GMC registration and revalidation
* Participate in annual appraisal
* Undertake mandatory training
* Engage in CPD and professional development
Person Specification
Qualifications – Essential
* MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
* Full GMC registration with licence to practise
* Inclusion on NHS Performers List
Qualifications – Desirable
* MRCGP
* Additional clinical qualifications or special interests
Experience – Essential
* Experience of working in UK general practice
* Experience managing a broad range of clinical conditions
Experience – Desirable
* Experience using EMIS Web
* Experience of triage systems eg AccuRx
* Experience in quality improvement or audit
