Childrens Support Worker
Location: Shrewsbury
Full‑time or Part‑time | Permanent | Shift‑based (including evenings, weekends and sleep‑ins)
Lotus Recruitment is recruiting Children’s Support Workers on behalf of a residential children’s setting that supports young people with emotional, behavioural and additional needs.
This role is ideal for someone who is caring, resilient and passionate about making a positive difference in the lives of children and young people within a safe and supportive residential environment.
The Role
As a Children’s Support Worker, you will:
* Provide day‑to‑day care, guidance and emotional support to children and young people
* Help create a safe, nurturing and structured environment
* Support young people with daily routines, education, activities and appointments
* Encourage positive behaviour, independence and life skills
* Build trusting relationships with children and act as a positive role model
* Maintain accurate records and contribute to care plans
* Work collaboratively with colleagues and follow safeguarding procedures at all times
What We Are Looking For
* Experience working with children or young people (preferred but not essential)
* A caring, patient and flexible approach
* Ability to remain calm and resilient in challenging situations
* Good communication and teamwork skills
* Commitment to safeguarding and promoting wellbeing
* Flexibility to work shifts, including nights, weekends and bank holidays
