Job Description
The Commercial Manager will lead commercial (procurement) management across high-volume, fast-moving portfolios in building, civil engineering, maintenance and renewal projects and critical infrastructure support contracts
3. Develop commercial (procurement) strategies and support pre-contract activities to ensure projects are set up for success
4. Collaborate with internal teams, understand stakeholder needs, and build strong supplier relationships
5. Navigate multiple projects at various stages, bringing clarity, structure, and momentum
6. Oversee contractor performance under framework agreements, leading contract negotiations and risk/value assessments
7. Guide and develop a high-performing commercial (procurement) team delivering saving and efficiency targets.
The Successful Applicant
Will be a self motivated and engaging commercial manager who who can prioritise well to manage workloads in a fast paced, delivery focused environment.A strong communicator who champions opportunity for continuous improvement and inspires and motivates teams members to deliver results Ideally you will also have experience of managing and developing a team of staff but the role would also be suitable for an individual with a strong track record in commercial management in civil projects looking to step up into full team managementSkills and Knowledge Required
8. Strong Commercial acumen
9. Knowledge of railway and/or construction industry conditions of contract
10. Experienced negotiator
11. Experience of resolution of construction contract disputes
12. Relevant railway/construction experience
13. Knowledge of commercial contract management including post construction contract management
14. Good communication skills
