We're looking for a motivated and experienced Assistant Construction Buyer to join this busy and growing Construction Contractor
Based within their experienced Commercial team, this role plays a key part in supporting the delivery of construction projects by ensuring materials, equipment, and services are sourced efficiently and cost-effectively
What You'll Be Doing
* Ordering of construction materials, tools and equipment
* Coordinating the ordering and delivery of construction materials to meet project timelines
* Managing the hire and return of tools, machinery, and temporary infrastructure
* Comparing supplier quotes and assisting with procurement decisions
* Monitoring usage and availability of company-owned equipment across sites
* Producing regular reports on procurement activity and plant utilisation
* Supporting the development and maintenance of procurement schedules
* Attending site and project meetings to provide updates on supply chain matters
* Carrying out site visits to ensure procurement processes are being followed
* Assisting with general procurement administration and ad-hoc tasks
You'll have:
* Knowledge & Understanding of Construction
* Familiarity of Construction materials
* Understanding of procurement, logistics and supply chain operations
* Confident communicator with strong negotiation skills
* Previous experience in a construction or project-based environment
* A proactive approach and the ability to work well under pressure
