Overview
We are recruiting Clinical Fellows to join our friendly Interventional Psychiatry Service based at the Warneford Hospital Oxford on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is a unique opportunity for you to gain experience of rapidly acting antidepressants, especially ketamine, associated group psychotherapy, transcranial magnetic stimulation (rTMS) and ECT. The Oxford IPS ketamine clinic has treated over 500 patients with over 10,000 IV doses of ketamine and has a full programme of NHS and self-pay clinics. There are many learning opportunities, including support to attend group therapy training, TMS training, and regular advanced psychopharmacology and complex case discussions with academic colleagues. For the ambitious, energetic and literate there are also opportunities to be involved in and write up research.
Responsibilities
* Assessment and review for ketamine, TMS, TDCS, ECT treatment
* Administration of IV ketamine, TMS and ECT
* Prescribing oral ketamine in liaison with pharmacy technician
* Teaching, supervising and covering ECT
* Co-facilitating related psychotherapy groups - relational psychodynamic
* Sub-investigator on clinical studies
Qualifications and experience
We are looking for candidates who have two years' experience working in an NHS hospital, with at least 4 months full-time in Psychiatry. This role is particularly suitable for those wishing to intercalate a year behind CT3 and CT4 but is open to FY3/4 applicants with relevant experience and aptitudes, and to others at later stages of training.
