The Science Department is a key curriculum area within the Academy, with a strong focus on high‑quality teaching, consistency of practice, and excellent outcomes for all students.
The successful candidate will carry out the professional duties of a Science teacher in accordance with the Academy’s policies and under the direction of the line manager.
Responsibilities
* Teach Science at KS3 and KS4, including GCSE level; may also teach up to KS3 in another subject where required.
* Deliver high‑quality lessons aligned with the Academy’s Features of Great Teaching.
* Maintain high expectations for behaviour, engagement and achievement in line with ‘The CHA Way’.
* Use assessment effectively to monitor student progress and inform planning.
* Contribute to curriculum development and share best practice within the Science team.
* Support enrichment activities and wider engagement in Science.
* Act as a form tutor, delivering pastoral and Life Skills (PSHE) provision.
* Promote student wellbeing, safeguarding and positive relationships with parents.
* Take part in Academy events and ongoing professional development.
Requirements
* Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent or willingness to gain QTS.
* A degree in one of the following Sciences: Biology, Chemistry or Physics.
* Experience teaching Science at the secondary level.
* Strong communication and organisational skills.
* A commitment to continuous professional development.
