The Role

To work collaboratively with the Head of Child & Adult Protection, Professional Lead for Child Protection and with partner agencies to develop a high quality child protection service, in line with national guidance, contributing to the strategic planning and development relating to Child Protection.

Implement Child Protection Case Supervision for identified staff groups. you will provide higher specialist advice in relation to the case management of vulnerable children including those in need of protection and Contribute towards the development and implementation of support systems and training for practitioners within NHS Lanarkshire.

To work in partnership with member agencies of Child Protection Committee Sub Groups/Task Groups and be active in maintaining and further developing professional links with other local and national organisations, To fully contribute to multi agency Initial Referral Discussions.

What we'll need you to bring

* Professional Qualifications essential:

* Registered General Nurse/Registered Midwife with valid NMC registration.

* Educated to/working towards/operating at Masters Level.

* Post graduate expertise within speciality / area of practice that demonstrates the required breadth of knowledge required to lead safety, effectively and efficiently.

* Comprehensive knowledge of clinical guidelines and standards within the speciality.

* Advanced Specialist knowledge and experience of relevant conditions, pathology, policies and procedures associated with the speciality/area of practice ensuring that the level of expertise can be utilised to deliver leadership within speciality.

* Evidence of application of advanced practice skills in speciality and applying clinical judgement.

* Evidence of further developed knowledge and experience in management and/or leadership.

* Further education/evidence of Continuous Professional Development in area of speciality including study days/courses/post graduate qualification.

* The post holder will possess excellent team-working/leadership skills and have the ability to motivate and influence others and work using own initiative.

* Excellent listening, communication and interpersonal skills and effective time management skills.

* Working knowledge of basic information technology.

* Car driver with a full, valid UK/EU/EEA drivers licence

Please note for all vacancies where a driving licence is required this must be a full UK/EU/EEA licence.


It would be great if you also have

* Master’s Degree in a professionally relevant Discipline

* Specialist Practitioner Qualification – Community Nursing or equivalent

* Broad experience and knowledge of working in child protection and in partnership working across agencies

* Sound knowledge and understanding of current legislation, policies, procedures and guidance pertaining to child protection.

18 hours

Please note this is a part time post and the salary for this position will be pro-rata.



Location and Working Pattern

This role will be based in Public Protection within Coathill Hospital

The working pattern for this role will be confirmed by the hiring manager.
