A public sector organisation is recruiting for a Tourism Advisor with Admin Duties based in Ballymena.
Your new role
As a Tourism Advisor with Administrative and Box Office responsibilities, you will be a key front-line representative, providing an exceptional wee to visitors while supporting the day-to-day operation of a vibrant visitor information centre.This is a temporary position (initially three months, subject to review) working 30 hours per week on a rota basis, including evenings, weekends and public holidays when required.Your role will be varied and hands-on,bining customer service, administration and retail/box office duties. You will:
1. Deliver a warm, professional and informative customer experience at all times
2. Handle visitor enquiries in person, by phone, email and digital channels
3. Promote local attractions, events, amodation and transport options
4. Operate booking and ticketing systems for events and attractions
5. Process cash and card transactions, reconcile daily ie and maintain accurate records
6. Support retail operations including stock control, merchandising and pricing
7. Undertake general administrative tasks such as booking management, data entry and report preparation
8. Assist with tourism events, promotions and publications
9. Work collaboratively with internal teams and external tourism partners
10. Act as a keyholder and follow opening and closing procedures
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will need:
11. A strong background in customer-facing work, ideally within tourism, hospitality, leisure or a similar environment
12. Experience handling cash transactions and basic financial reconciliation
13. Proven administrative experience, with good attention to detail
14. Confidence usingputerised systems and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and Outlook)
15. A good general knowledge of the local area and a genuine interest in tourism and culture
16. The ability to work flexibly, including unsociable hours on a rota basis
17. Strongmunication skills and a positive, professional approach to customer service
You may qualify through either formal education (GCSE level or equivalent)bined with relevant experience, or through more extensive hands-on experience in a similar customer-focused role.
