Team Leader – Family Assessment Centre – Hendon (NW4) 🌟
💰 £14.00 – £15.00 per hour | ⏰ Full-time, 40 hours per week | Permanent role
We are recruiting for an experienced Team Leader to join a well-established Family Assessment Centre in Hendon (NW4). This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and organised professional to lead shifts, support staff, and ensure families receive high-quality care and assessment in a safe, structured environment.
The service works with families undergoing residential assessments, supporting parents and children while working closely with local authorities and partner agencies to achieve positive outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead shifts and oversee the daily operation of the Family Assessment Centre
Supervise and support Family Support Workers, ensuring staff are active on the floor and meeting service expectations
Support staff to complete chronologies, placement plans, risk assessments, and weekly reports accurately and on time
Complete and quality-check weekly family reports, working closely with social workers to avoid delays
Allocate and support key workers for families alongside the Registered Manager
Liaise with social workers regarding weekly tasks, assessments, and family progress
Ensure families’ wellbeing is monitored, including feeding charts, bathing support, mental health check-ins, and wellbeing walks
Ensure families are engaged through structured sessions, activities, and community-based support
Supervise night staff and ensure babies are checked regularly in line with service requirements
Maintain safeguarding standards, ensuring incident reports are completed within 24 hours and shared appropriately
Update admission and discharge registers accurately at the point of placement and exit
Ensure GP registrations are completed within five days of placement and health visiting services are notified
Take responsibility for health and safety, including medication audits, fire drills, and ensuring the centre is clean and hazard-free
Respond to resident complaints in the absence of senior management
Support rota management and take part in the on-call rota system
Attend meetings and support administrative duties, including invoicing liaison where required
Notify Ofsted of serious incidents in the absence of the Manager, following internal procedures
Complete any other reasonable tasks requested by the Registered ManagerCandidate Requirements:
NVQ Level 3 in Residential Childcare (or Children & Young People) – essential
Previous experience in a Family Assessment Centre, residential childcare, or similar setting
Experience in a senior or leadership role
Strong written and verbal communication skills, including report writing
Confident managing challenging situations calmly and professionally
Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
Commitment to safeguarding children and supporting families
Full UK driving licence preferredPlease note: This role is not suitable for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship.
