Our Kitchen Assistants/Team Members are responsible for preparing our food offering to the highest quality and standards.

Compensation: £12.21 - £13.00 / hour
What you'll do at Pasta Evangelists
* Ensure the kitchen is set up and ready for each service with the right amount of prepared Pasta Sauces and other ingredients to support quick service while managing food costs (par levels in the pre-prepared cold delivery fridge).
* Wear a full smart clean uniform to brand standard and protective clothing as required.
* Adhere to the Pasta Evangelists Standard to keep Pasta and other products at the highest quality for customers.
* Keep the kitchen exceptionally clean and comply with Health and Safety / Quality and Safety regulations.
* Monitor availability and inform Team Leaders and the wider team in advance.
* Document and record information on food as per company policy, including effective date labelling and FIFO stock rotation.
* Maintain all par levels and record any food wastage accurately.
* Utilise the SOP to maximise quality and speed of food readiness.
* Ensure temperature records are kept for all equipment (fridges, pasta boiler, ovens, microwaves) and follow safe food handling procedures.
* Maintain equipment to SOP standards (kitchen management system, ovens, fridges, freezers, etc.).
* Prepare and cook food to the highest standards in line with the How to Card and SOPs.
* Check deliveries on receipt and report issues to the Team Leader/Manager; store deliveries correctly and adhere to storage requirements.
* Operate the wash-up area effectively and ensure equipment is thoroughly cleaned; use correct signage during cleaning.
* Dispose of rubbish correctly and follow waste management and recycling practices in line with Local Authority requirements.
* Report equipment defects promptly to the Team Leader or Area Manager.
* Follow close down procedures to ensure the kitchen is clean and prepared for the next shift.
* Organise pest checks regularly and report any concerns to the Team Leader and higher management.
Who are you
* Knowledge of safe food handling, storage, and preparation techniques to prevent foodborne illness (preferred).
* Familiar with basic culinary techniques such as chopping, slicing, dicing, and measuring ingredients.
* Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment, prioritise tasks, and manage time effectively.
* Meticulous and detail-oriented in food preparation, cleaning, and maintaining kitchen organisation.
* Team player with effective communication and ability to follow instructions from the Team Leader and/or Area Manager.
* Willing to adapt to changing situations, work schedules, and tasks in a dynamic kitchen environment.
