Overview
Ward Clerk, Assessment and Treatment Unit, Harplands Hospital: maternity cover to 13 July 2026. This post is fixed term to cover maternity leave and is part time, 22.5 hours per week. This vacancy is only open at this stage to internal employees of the following organisations within the Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care System: North Staffordshire Combined Healthcare NHS Trust; Midlands Partnership University NHS Foundation Trust; University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust, inclusive of Black Country Procurement Group and North Midlands and Cheshire Pathology Service; Staffordshire and Stoke-on-Trent Integrated Care Board.
We are looking for a bright and friendly person to join our team on the Assessment and Treatment Unit, Harplands Hospital. Previous clerical experience in the health service would be desirable. You should be a calm, organised and well-motivated person with a positive, mature and flexible approach to your work. The post involves contact with patients and their families, so good communication skills are vital.

To provide comprehensive clerical service to the ward ensuring that all duties are carried out accurately and efficiently and that confidentiality is maintained.

Responsibilities
* To adopt a flexible approach and recognise changing priorities throughout the day in respect of the fluctuating nature of a busy service.
* To ensure accurate and efficient allocation, recording and despatch of mail.
* To receive telephone calls, refer to nursing staff or take/allocate messages as appropriate.
* To receive and send documentation and e-mail as per policy.
* To produce correspondence and other documentation as required.
* To photocopy, collate and distribute documentation as required.
