Overview
Do you want to do meaningful work that makes a genuine difference to society? Our main purpose at the National Institute for Health and Care Excellence (NICE) is to improve health and wellbeing by putting science and evidence at the heart of health and care decision making. As an organisation we collaborate to achieve this goal by empowering our workforce to do great things. Working in the managed access team you’ll help bring promising health technologies to patients and the NHS sooner by supporting the delivery of the evidence NICE needs. You’ll work on a wide variety of topics alongside partners from across the healthcare system with plenty of opportunities to learn and develop.

Role
As a Senior Technical Analyst – Evidence Generation, you will play a pivotal role in bringing promising new health technologies to patients in the NHS. By managing diverse stakeholder relationships and critically appraising highly complex data, you will facilitate conditional use arrangements that bring innovative treatments to patients while delivering the evidence needed to understand their clinical and cost effectiveness.
The Successful Candidate Is Expected To
* Critically Appraise Complex Data: Evaluate and validate highly complex clinical research, epidemiological data, and real-world data sources
* Stakeholder Engagement: Build and maintain effective working relationships with a diverse range of partners, including NICE committee teams, Evidence Assessment Groups (EAGs), and senior system partners
* Communicate with confidence: Prepare and deliver structured briefings and presentations on highly complex information to a range of internal and external stakeholders
* Lead Document Synthesis: Author and edit high-quality public guidance documents, ensuring all outputs meet rigorous quality standards
* Manage Projects: Work across multiple workstreams with shifting timelines, evaluating risks and priorities
Context
The Commercial and Managed Access Programme (CMAP) supports the work of NICE guidance producing programmes by facilitating and streamlining interactions with key health system partners and companies to support access to cost-effective technologies and value for money in healthcare. Managed access (medicines) / Early Use Assessment (healthtech) provide an opportunity for patients to benefit from promising new treatments, while further data is collected to address uncertainties. The Managed Access Team aims to resolve the uncertainties by considering the feasibility data collection, working with NICE committees, translating evidence generation recommendations into data collection agreements (DCAs) / evidence generation plans, overseeing the generation of new evidence and ensuring that it’s ready for review after the period of evidence generation.
