The Opportunity
We have an opportunity for an experienced Product & Graphic Designer to join our fantastic team based in the Addo Play Head Office, Amersham, Bucks.
Responsibilities:
* Concept Development: Generate original, market-relevant toy concepts and illustrations across multiple categories with a focus on creativity, play value, and brand alignment.
* Design Execution: Create detailed sketches, illustrations, and technical drawings to communicate product ideas clearly.
* Collaboration: Work closely with the Product Development, Quality Assurance and Design teams to ensure designs are feasible for production, cost-effective, and delivered on schedule.
* Trend & Market Research: Keep updated on toy industry trends, consumer insights, and competitor activity to inspire innovation and inform design decisions.
* Brand Consistency: Ensure all designs adhere to our company's creative vision.
* Presentation: Prepare and present concept boards, product mock-ups, and range proposals to internal teams.
* Provide design support for the creation of packaging, marketing, and POS materials to maintain brand consistency.
* Maintain organised digital files, design libraries, and documentation for easy access and future reference.
Skills & Experience:
* Proven Experience in toy design or related creative roles, with a strong portfolio across multiple toy categories.
* Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop) and strong hand sketching skills. CAD modelling skill is a bonus but not essential.
* Ability to design across different styles to suit various style guides and brand identities.
* Understanding of production processes, materials, following tooling plans and cost considerations to support collaboration with design and product development.
* Excellent visual and verbal presentation skills to communicate ideas effectively.
* Collaborative mindset, able to work closely with cross-functional teams including product development, Marketing, QA and Design.
* Creative thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a keen eye for detail and a passion for delivering exceptional design solutions.
