We fantastic opportunities to be involved in providing support and care to children in care who have emotional and social needs. We work using the PACE model of therapeutic parenting to ensure children and young people are safe, well and cared for.

If successful, you will be working as part of a small staff team who provide support and a person-centred service to children and young people.

These posts are shift based (earlies, lates and sleep in’s) to provide 24 hour care. It will also include weekend and bank holiday working, as well as attendance at team meetings and reflective practice sessions.

You must have the appropriate skills and experience to perform and work within an environment that can at times require using your own initiative along with an understanding of The Children Act, Children’s Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards.

You must hold or be already working towards or be willing to undertake and complete, the Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England). Equivalent qualifications ( NVQ Level 3 Children and Young People’s Workforce Diploma and Social Care Pathway (England) 2015) will also be accepted, although you will need to be willing to complete any additional work to meet the required level, if required.

Residential Children's Worker roles attract the following additional payments. This post is an overnight role, for the most part, and will include weekend and bank holiday working, as well as attendance at team meetings and reflective practice sessions. Assistant Residential Children's Workers have the support of a Residential Children's Worker who will sleep in, and wake, should the need arise.

Salary details: Grade 9 £ £ Monday to Sunday 7am-7pm. After 7pm until 7am £ - £ Bank Holidays £ - £ Bank Holidays

Sleep-in duty, you will be paid a basic duty payment rate of £ Any additional time worked because of being called to work when sleeping in will be paid at the appropriate rate for the day/time of day. Bank holidays: sleep-in duties that span into or out of a bank holiday will be enhanced to double the basic duty payment rate.
