Location: Stevenage

Rate: £460 - £500 a week

Contract: Full-time, long-term (Mon-Fri, 8:30am - 3:30pm)

Sector: Education and Training | Mental Health Support | SEN

Are you a recent Psychology or Criminology graduate eager to gain real-world experience working with young people? Are you passionate about mental health, behaviour, and supporting vulnerable students in the education and training sector?

This School Support Worker role in Stevenage is a fantastic first step for graduates interested in careers in educational psychology, youth justice, counselling, mental health, or social care.

Why this role is ideal for you:

* Build hands-on experience supporting students with Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, such as ADHD, Autism, and communication challenges.
* Work alongside experienced educators, therapists, and SEN professionals in a collaborative school environment.
* Gain valuable insights into the links between behaviour, learning, and mental health-directly related to your degree.
* Play a meaningful role in improving outcomes for young people facing significant challenges in and outside the classroom in Stevenage.

What we're looking for:

* A recent graduate in Psychology, Criminology, or a related field.
* A genuine passion for supporting young people, especially those with additional mental health or behavioural needs as a School Support Worker.
* Some experience (paid or voluntary) in youth work, support work, or education is beneficial-but not essential.
* A team player who is empathetic, patient, and committed to helping students thrive.
* Based in or able to commute to Stevenage reliably.

What you'll be doing:

* Supporting students on a 1:1 or small group basis to help them engage with learning in the education and training sector.
* Assisting in the delivery of tailored learning and behavioural support plans.
* Working closely with teachers, therapists, and SENCOs to create a safe, positive, and inclusive school environment.
* Providing emotional and pastoral support to help students develop self-confidence and resilience.
* This is more than just a job-it's a launchpad into a meaningful career.

If you're a graduate in or around Stevenage who wants to make a difference as a School Support Worker and gain experience that will support your future goals in psychology, youth justice, or mental health, we'd love to hear from you.

Apply for the School Support Worker now to be considered - interviews taking place over the next few weeks.
