Bank Speech & Language Therapist - Surrey
As a Band 5 Speech & Language Therapist within the preschool team you will assess, diagnose and deliver evidence-based interventions to children with speech, language and communication needs (SLCN).
You will play a vital role in empowering parents, carers and professionals through training, support and collaborative working.
Your work will primarily focus on children within early years settings such as nurseries, Family Hubs and family homes.
Base: HCRG Care Group office hub across Surrey with the option for hybrid working.

Main duties of the job
* Carry out high-quality ADOS assessments as part of a Multi‑Disciplinary Team for children and young people.
* Deliver high-quality SLT assessments and interventions to preschool‑aged children.
* Collaborate with parents, carers and the wider children’s workforce to create tailored care plans.
* Provide reports, including for Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Support service development and key performance targets.
* Supervise and guide SLT assistants and students.
* Plan and deliver training for carers and professionals to enhance understanding of SLCN.
* Participate in multi‑agency meetings and safeguarding case conferences as required.

The ideal candidate
Essential
* Recognised Speech and Language Therapy degree or equivalent (Post‑Graduate Diploma or MSc leading to HCPC registration).
* Knowledge and training in ASD strategies and interventions such as PECS, SCERTS and ADOS.
* Health and Care Professions Council licence to practise (HCPC).
* Member of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists.
* Member of a relevant Clinical Excellence Network.
* Specialist knowledge of assessments and interventions for the client group.
* Knowledge of national and local policies and procedures relevant to the client group and role.
* Awareness of child protection policies and procedures.
* Experience managing own caseload and working effectively with a range of client groups.
Desirable
* Knowledge/training in PCI and Hanen strategies.
* Knowledge of educational training packages (e.g. ELKLAN, WellComm).
* Knowledge of signing (e.g. Makaton).
* Demonstrable experience working in the NHS.
Other requirements: The successful applicant must be a car driver.
