About the role
We are looking for a highly organised and proactive Administrative and Support Assistant to help manage the household, health-related, and organisational aspects of daily life for L, a neurodivergent adult living with Chronic Fatigue Syndrome and other health conditions.
The role is centred around administration. By ensuring that records, appointments, and household systems run smoothly, you will play a key part in enabling L to maintain independence and stability.
This role is well-suited to someone who is highly organised, values autonomy and dignity in care.
You must be able to drive and have access to a car.
Key responsibilities
· Establish a professional, respectful, and collaborative working relationship with L
· Keep household and personal administration up to date – including utilities, online accounts, and contact lists
· Manage records of actions and support provided on a shared spreadsheet
· Support with appointment scheduling, referrals, and maintaining health-related documentation
· Draft communications and represent L in writing or conversations with organisations and professionals as required
· Prepare for and take notes in meetings with health professionals or other service providers
· Occasional support with driven lifts to appointments
· Support with food planning, cooking and ordering depending on capability
· Liaise with L's Job Aide, other support workers, and medical professionals to ensure information is shared appropriately
· Anticipate and prioritise tasks with confidence, particularly during times of increased health needs (e.g. during a CFS flare)
· Maintain confidentiality and professional boundaries at all times
About you
· Experience in administrative support, preferably with some understanding of health or social care environments, but certainly a willingness to upskill in this area
· Strong written and verbal communication skills
· Highly organised and able to manage competing priorities independently
· Emotionally intelligent, discreet, and respectful of privacy
· Confident with problem-solving and proactive in managing tasks
· Skilled in Excel and comfortable with digital systems and online accounts
· Physically capable of assisting with mobility (lifting, handling, pushing and bending – you do not need to be strong, but need to be able to operate without reciprocal support from L)
· Full UK driving licence and access to a car (occasional transport support may be needed)
Nice to have
· British Sign Language
· Competence with Mac-based systems
· Trauma-informed awareness
· Car
This role is subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory references.
We warmly welcome applicants with lived experience of disability or neurodivergence and are committed to providing a supportive and inclusive working environment.
