Overview
We are recruiting Band 2/3 Healthcare Assistants within Heartlands Hospital across multiple specialities including Acute Medicine, Surgery, Elderly Care, Emergency Department, Cardiology, Respiratory, Renal, Infectious Diseases and other specialist medical and surgical Departments. Responsibilities
* Supporting patients with personal care and daily activities
* Recording observations and vital signs
* Assisting with mobility and clinical procedures
* Maintaining accurate documentation
* Assisting patients with personal care, hygiene, and mobility needs
* Monitoring and recording vital signs and clinical observations
* Supporting patients with nutrition, hydration, and comfort
* Assisting in clinical procedures and rehabilitation activities
* Maintaining accurate and timely documentation
* Promoting patient dignity, independence, and wellbeing
* Supporting infection prevention and control measures
* Communicating effectively with patients, families, and the multidisciplinary team
* Contributing to care planning and patient assessments
* Escalating concerns appropriately to senior staff
* Band 3 roles may involve additional responsibilities such as mentoring junior staff, supporting discharge planning, and undertaking extended skills (e.g., venepuncture, ECGs) depending on training and service needs
Qualifications
* Previous care experience
* NVQ Level 2/3 in Health & Social Care (or equivalent)
* Good communication skills and a compassionate approach
* Flexibility to work varied shifts
