Summary
We are seeking a Github Migration Engineer to join our team. This role involves migrating build pipelines from Jenkins to Cloudbees, and source code repositories from Bitbucket, Subversion, CVS, or Gitlab to Github Enterprise. Skills required include Jenkins, Cloudbees, Java/Python, AWS, K8S, GitHub, Stash/BitBucket.
* Investigate issues and develop fixes.
* Collaborate with the engineering team to understand systems and help build for scale.
* Build tools to monitor production systems for preemptive issue detection.
* Assist in building test infrastructure.
* Develop new features for our solutions.
Main Responsibilities
* Develop and execute migration strategies to GitHub.
* Gather requirements and plan migrations.
* Perform hands-on repository migrations, including code, issues, documentation, and CI/CD configurations.
* Ensure seamless integration of GitHub with existing tools and workflows.
* Optimize GitHub workflows and CI/CD pipelines for performance and security.
* Provide technical guidance during migrations.
* Troubleshoot and resolve migration and integration issues.
* Document processes and best practices.
* Stay updated on GitHub and DevOps tools.
Qualifications
* 5+ years of experience.
* Bachelor’s degree in computer science, IT, or related field.
* Hands-on experience with GitHub in roles such as DevOps Engineer or Source Code Manager.
* Technologies include EKS Harness, Kubernetes, Jenkins/Cloudbees, Git, Subversion, CVS, Terraform, AWS, Puppet, Rspec, Black Duck, SonarQube, Artifactory.
* Proficiency with GitHub and version control.
* Experience with CI/CD tools like GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI.
* Scripting skills in Python, Bash.
* Understanding of containers and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes).
* Knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP).
