About the Role
Amazon is seeking a Senior Operations Manager to join our Japan Amazon Logistics team. The goal of Amazon Logistics (AMZL) is to build a world-class last mile operation delivering to customers. We aim to exceed customer expectations by ensuring quick, accurate, and cost-effective deliveries, and we are expanding rapidly in Japan.
Key Responsibilities
1. Oversee all budgetary, people development, and operational objectives for an Amazon Logistics Delivery Station (DS).
2. Manage and lead a team of Operations and Area Managers, coaching and mentoring to meet performance objectives.
3. Build positive employee relations and leadership bench strength within the DS.
4. Ensure safety, quality, performance, customer experience, and people development across all delivery station operations.
5. Drive the station's vision, quality initiatives, process improvements, and lean initiatives to meet and exceed business plans.
6. Identify and solve problems to close performance gaps.
7. Set clear expectations for Operations and Area Managers, measure performance, and provide feedback.
8. Manage daily relationships with multiple Delivery Service Providers (DSPs).
9. Present operational metrics to senior leadership regularly.
10. Hire and develop top talent, creating and implementing a comprehensive talent plan.
11. Leverage the team to generate and implement improvement ideas.
12. Cultivate a strong, engaging culture throughout the delivery station.
13. Share best practices across departments and shifts.
14. Collaborate with key partners such as Transport & Sortation, DSP Management, Finance, Loss Prevention, IT, HR, and Engineering to support projects and initiatives.

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelor’s degree or relevant experience
* 10+ years of operational experience in supply chain, logistics, transportation, manufacturing, retail, etc.
* Experience leading and developing teams of 10+ members
* Business-level English proficiency
Preferred Qualifications
* Extensive operations experience in a fast-growing environment
* 15+ years of relevant experience
* Experience leading rapid expansion initiatives
* Proven track record of delivering multiple programs on time
* Excellent communication skills
* Business-level Japanese proficiency
* Enthusiasm for working in a diverse and inclusive environment
