Overview
We are seeking a flexible team player to join our catering team team. You will be supported in contributing to the delivery delivering high-quality food service and ensuring that our kitchen operates smoothly. Our kitchen prepares and service a range of nutritional meals snacks and drinks to 30 people living at the home. You should have the ability to communicate effectively with other team members and support those living at the home in making their menu selection for the day. We will support you with proactive induction and training programme equipping you will all the necessary tools to undertake your duties safely and effectively.
Principal Duties:
· Clear breakfast trays, load dishwasher and run through its cycle or wash up by hand. Clean trays and replace in the tray stacker.
· Set up trolley for Residents' coffee.
· Take Menu round to Residents, outlining choices and options
· Deliver morning and afternoon drinks and snacks to residents
· Lay-up trays for lunch.
· Follow and complete the cleaning rota for that day
· Clear drinks trolley, clean trolley and set up for serving dessert.
· Serve lunch time puddings
· Wash up pots and pans.
· Peel potatoes for next day.
· Clear lunch trays, load dishwasher and run it through its cycle or wash up by hand, clean trays and replace in the tray stacker.
· Clean hotplate and dishwasher.
· Empty bins and wash them both, replace bags.
· Support and as required coordinate and serve suppers.
· Drain dishwasher check the filter is clean and refill slat as required
· Sweep and wash kitchen floor ensure cleaning in progress sign is visible.
· To attend Mandatory Training sessions and supervision meetings.
· To follow all company policies and procedures as set in the Employee Handbook.
· To report faulty equipment and hazards to the Cook/Manager promptly
Requirements of the position:
* To work in accordance with the listed Risk Assessments, Maintain COSHH Risk Assessments and data sheets and promote these to other team members
* Attend appropriate training sessions and staff meetings required by the Home Manager.
* Adhere to the Health and Safety Manual and be aware of emergency policies and procedures, respond to emergencies as appropriate.
* To undertake any other duties as required, in order to keeping the Nursing Home running smoothly, as delegated by the trained nursing staff or Home Manager'
General Scope of the Post:
in addition to the above, there are some general requirements that apply to all jobs in the Home:
* Take responsibility for the safeguarding of adults both following and promoting the home's Safeguarding Adults at Risk Policy.
Pay: £12.21-£12.24 per hour
Expected hours: 10 – 30 per week
